Just a reminder to count yourself in by participating in this year’s event. Don’t worry, if you haven’t had a chance to count today, there are still three more days, as the count goes until Monday, February 15.

Sun Chips New Compostable Packaging

Soon, the bag containing the chips could disappear as fast as the chips themselves. Well, ok, maybe not as fast, but at least they could be composted if Frito Lay has their way. Concerned about their environmental image, the snack-food giant has announced plans to begin selling Sun Chips in eco-friendly bags, starting next month.

By participating in the event, which takes place from Friday, February 12 to Monday, February 15, you can help make this count the biggest ever.

If you’re a GTA (Greater Toronto Area) homeowner, you may be able to benefit from The Backyard Tree Planting Program provided by LEAF (Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests), a non-profit organization dedicated to helping improve city life, “one tree at a time”.

Fall Yard Cleanup

With fall well along and trees becoming more ’see-through’ as the last few leaves flutter to the ground, don’t just rake up those colourful pieces of nature into bags for garbage pickup. A compost pile is a happy leftover eater, and fall provides a smorgasbord of tasty offerings.
