Green Science at an Early Age – Environmental Activity Kits for Children

Green Science Environmental Kits

When I was but a wee lad, which, ahem, was not that long ago, I loved a good science experiment. I remember creating explosions with baking soda and vinegar countless times. Science for kids today involves the same cool discoveries, but also reflects current environmental issues.

Fortunately for Moms out there who don’t enjoy cleaning up huge messes after their children’s experiments, 4M Industrial Development has come up with some Green Science Kits for Children. Not only do they make environmental science affordable, but also simple and fun! And the best part is, you don’t have to be a mad scientist to figure them out. Almost everything you’ll need is included in the box.

The kits range from solar science experiments that purify water or cook an egg using foiled cardboard and the power of the sun, to the classic Enviro Battery, that uses natural materials like a potato, salt water, or even mud to power a light or sound a buzzer. If your children enjoy building things with their hands, they will love these scientific experiments.

One notable experiment, the Green Science Windmill Generator, was a winner of the 2009 Teacher’s Choice Awards for Family. The experiment works by means of a windmill generator that causes a LED to glow as it’s powered by the wind, an example teaching children of how wind farms can produce electricity for communities and cities.

For the kids in your family, or to return to childhood yourself and discover the joy of science, try these Science Kits that bring fun, education and ‘green’ together.
