Twitter is a fantastic resource for environmental news and information. Countless tweeps provide green and sustainable recommendations from around the web that aren’t just useful but that otherwise might not have been discovered. I’ve been using twitter for a few short months and have been following some really amazing people that make up twitter’s eco-army. This list is by no means complete and I’m sure everyone has their own picks for top green twitterers, but here are a few of my favorites that I highly recommend.
Chris at Environmental Graffiti tweets for environmentalists who don’t take themselves too seriously and has a mix of the most bizarre, funny and interesting environmental news on the planet. Highly recommended.
Stefanie, the founder of focusorganic, provides awesome organic tweets and other green news. It also seems that every time I look at her feed she’s giving away free green swag – and who doesn’t love free stuff?
Ecosaveology is a fantastic green twitter resource. They are very active on twitter and provide all sorts of green and sustainable related news and articles. They also have a fantastic green facebook group, and blog.
Fantastic tweets about the oil industry with an aim to educate and empower individuals in the wake of global climate change.
Located in Houston, Texas, the Taiga Company focuses on sustainability, life, and the environment. They are very active on twitter and have some great blog posts.
Ways2GoGreen is an awesome resource for green related news and support. They also make adapting to a green lifestyle simple and easy. Their moto? Think Globally, Act Locally. Go Green!
Love hiking? Not as much as Richard Davidian. Richard is a fantastic resource for those that love hiking, backpacking, birding and wilderness survival. He is your one stop resource for anything and everything in the great outdoors. Not to mention he has over 10,000 loyal twitter followers to boot. Two words: Amazing Tweep.
Wendy is a great resource for green related news and advice. Her green blog, “My Green Side”, offers simple tips for green living. Oh, and did I mention she has been published by the Chicago Sun-Times, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Reuters and Fox News? Clearly this lovely lady knows her stuff.
Some of us have green thumbs and others don’t. Author, columnist, and ‘wild woman’ Shawna Coronado clearly does. She offers support and motivation for green gardeners everywhere and has some fantastic motivational video posts as well. If you have any interest in gardening she would be great to follow.
Peter Kobel believes that economic justice and environmental conservation are closely linked and we can all play a part to advocate change. He tweets about many interesting topics and is a wonderful addition to anyone’s follow list.
As I mentioned, this is by no means a complete list. Just some notable people that I personally enjoy following. Twitter has opened the way for people from all walks of life to contact each other with similar interests, views and opinions. Let’s hope that it continues to grow so we can all discover new tweeps to follow.
If you would like to recommend someone on Twitter, please leave a comment.

Very happy to be on your list. Although I should point out that http://www.gardeningnude.com is a green tip blog and not really about gardening specifically. I’ll keep them coming!
Thanks!
