3rdWhale has released a free mobile application for the iPhone that lets you search for the nearest vegetarian restaurants, fair trade stores, yoga centers and bicycle shops. Using GPS, you’ll be able to search for the greenest businesses near you, enabling you to support the companies that agree with your green ideals. Their database already includes over 100 cities and their goal is to reach 1000 worldwide.
Some of the features the app includes are:
- 4 Green Categories: Food, Ecotourism, Retail, Spa/Fitness
- Check out “What’s Around” and “Search” for green places
- Rate the greenness of a business
- Add your favorite green place
Currently, 3rdWhale is in beta in the iTunes app store and they are also planning on apps for Google Android and Blackberry.
