Attention coffee lovers! ‘Green-tweaking’ your daily life can start right from the time you roll out of bed and head for the kitchen. As you push that start button, think of a few simple ways to go green with your morning brew:
The Machine Itself
Use a coffee maker with a thermal carafe at home or work. This will definitely cut down on the energy used on the ‘keep warm’ setting with regular carafes. It will also keep your coffee hot, while preventing it from changing into a murky, burnt-flavored beverage.
As well, switch to reusable filters to save on waste and money.
The Home Brew, Please
Make some extra coffee in the morning and fill your favorite reusable mug or thermos. Imagine all the waste you can avoid by not using disposable cups. Think of the money too. Over a few months, it could add up to a state of the art ‘green’ coffee machine.
Caffeinated Compost
Composting is always a good idea. Throw your coffee grinds in your composter for high nitrogen content soil. Perfect for your garden or potted plants.
As you ‘green-tweak’ your coffee routine, each cup will taste better and better, to you and the planet!

I agree with you that throwing the coffee grounds in the garden can help bring up the plants, but reuse coffee is not a very good idea. It does not taste as it should be anymore.
